Cool Helmet Tech
I’ve been on the hunt for some decent riding gear for some time, and recently found some pretty cool helmets and some add-ons.
Integrated LED lighting is one of the biggest upgrades. Front and rear lights increase visibility without the need for extra accessories, while some smart helmets include automatic brake lights and turn signals to help other road users better anticipate your movements. Helmets like this one are really nice, and for the type of riding I do, it definitely increases visibility without compromising impact protection.
Many smart helmets (like these!) also feature Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to hear navigation prompts, answer calls hands-free, or communicate with others on the road. Paired with smartphone apps, these helmets can customize lighting, monitor battery life, and even send emergency alerts after a detected crash—bringing safety and technology together in one streamlined package.
One helmet that is unique is the Shoei GT-AIR 3 Smart. It features a HUD, lighting, and Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, it’s not yet available here in the US, but fingers crossed that changes soon!
